Work Experience At Brookfield
EMS Placements
We are pleased to offer EMS placements at our practice. Due to the high demand for these placements, we would ask that students are in year 3 or above of their Veterinary degree to enable you to get the most out of your placement!
We offer practical opportunities wherever possible, particularly placing IV catheters and taking blood samples, and scrubbing into surgeries depending on your experience level.
We can also offer accommodation at our Hereford branch for the duration of your placement. As we provide all our own out of hours cover, we encourage students to participate in these cases as well, to show you all aspects of the profession!
To apply for a placement please email Lauren at rachel@brookfieldvets.co.uk with your CV and prospective placement dates.
Work Experience
At Brookfield we understand the importance of the effect that work experience can have on someone’s career choice.
If you are considering a career within the veterinary industry, then spending some time within a busy practice, exploring the roles of veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and assistants can be useful when deciding which path is the right one to take when deciding on future studies.
If you feel you are one of these people, then please send a
- handwritten covering letter with any previous animal related experience
- what you hope to achieve from your work experience
- when you would like to carry out the work experience
To Rachel Ford RVN along with a CV or email her on rachel@brookfieldvets.co.uk
For the Ledbury branch, work experience contact Tracy Haines EVN VN Clinical Coach on ledbury@brookfieldvets.co.uk
Please note that work experience is very popular at Brookfield and therefore we cannot accept every application - especially since COVID we have had to give priority to those already undertaking their veterinary medicine or nursing courses.
We look forward to hearing from you.
