What is puppy socialisation and why is it important?
Puppies need to be exposed to a range of different experiences while they are young so that they are not afraid of them in later life. Puppies have a window where they tolerate these experiences better which closes 16-17 weeks of age. This is why it is important to expose your puppy to a range of different situations in a positive manner at a young age. Positive socialisation at a young age can prevent problems starting later in life.
Socialisation can involve meeting:
- Unfamiliar people of different ages
- Other puppies and dogs
- Other animals (Cats and Livestock)
- Travelling in the car
- Traffic
- Towns
How much does it cost?
The course costs £45 for the 4 weeks.
