EMS Placements at Brookfield Veterinary Practice

We are excited to offer EMS placements at our practice! Due to high demand, we ask that applicants that are in year 3 or above of their Veterinary degree to ensure you gain the most from your placement experience.

Our EMS placements provide practical opportunities, including:

  • IV catheter placement and blood sample collection (depending on your experience).
  • Scrubbing into surgeries and participating in a variety of clinical tasks.
  • Out-of-hours case participation: As we provide our own out-of-hours cover, we encourage students to take part in these cases, giving you a broad view of the profession.

We also offer accommodation at our Hereford branch for the duration of your placement.

To apply for an EMS placement, please email Lauren at placement@brookfieldvets.co.uk with your CV and prospective placement dates.

At Brookfield, we understand how valuable work experience can be in shaping your future career. Whether you’re considering a career as a veterinary surgeon, veterinary nurse, or in another role within the veterinary field, spending time in a busy practice is a great way to explore different career paths.

If you're interested in work experience, please send:

  • A handwritten covering letter outlining:
    • Any previous animal-related experience.
    • What you hope to achieve from your work experience.
    • The dates you wish to carry out the work experience.
  • A CV

Please send this to Rachel Ford RVN via email at placement@brookfieldvets.co.uk.

For work experience inquiries for our Ledbury branch, please contact Tracy Haines EVN VN Clinical Coach at ledbury@brookfieldvets.co.uk.

Please note that work experience is very popular, and while we try to accommodate all requests, priority will be given to those already studying veterinary medicine or nursing courses.

We look forward to hearing from you and helping you on your journey into the veterinary profession!
