Euthanasia
Euthanasia and End-of-Life Care
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is a very emotional and difficult decision for any pet owner. At Brookfield Veterinary Practice, we understand the emotional toll this can take, and we are here to support you through this challenging time. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the process, and our veterinary team will be happy to provide you with all the information and comfort you need. It can often be helpful to know what to expect, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.
Where Can Euthanasia Take Place?
Euthanasia can be performed at the practice or in the comfort of your own home. If you prefer a home visit, we will do our best to arrange a time that works for both you and your pet. However, please note that it is not always possible to accommodate home visits at all times, and we will discuss the best options for you.
Please contact the practice to discuss your requirements for a home visit, and we will make every effort to honour your wishes.
Cremation and Aftercare Options
Once your pet has passed away, you have several options for memorialising them and handling their remains. Some of the options available include:
- Home Burial: You may choose to take your pet home for a private burial.
- Scatter Tube: A simple and meaningful way to scatter your pet’s ashes in a special place, such as their favourite spot.
- Casket: An elegant carved casket with a brass nameplate, offering a dignified resting place for your pet’s ashes.
- Urn: A beautiful pottery urn with a name tag, providing a lasting tribute to your pet.
